NextDor is a JCA program for community members in their 20's, 30's and early 40's, offering opportunities for peer-led social, cultural and educational engagement guided by Jewish values. 'Dor' is the Hebrew word for generation. NextDor programs are open and welcoming to Jewish and non-Jewish households.
Our mission is to engage this demographic in various settings that are accessible, inclusive and uniting. We will explore what it means to be Jewish in Southern Maine through adventurous, educational, and spiritual avenues.
NextDor is based on the Jewish values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedekah (righteous giving), klal yisrael (commitment to worldwide Jewry), and gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness).
As we prepare to move into our new building at 1342 Congress Street in Portland this summer, we're visioning programming for NextDor 2.0 and we want YOUR input!
Please take the 5 minute survey to let us know what programs you'd like to be part of in the coming year. If you now fall outside the NextDor age group, we still want your feedback!
Survey closes on Tuesday, February 28th.
Survey participants will be entered in a random drawing to win two general admission tickets to the 2017 Maine Jewish Film Festival. Winner will be announced on Thursday, March 2nd.
For the general community, we will be offering a variety of cultural, educational, family and wellness programs in our new building starting this fall. For more information, please contact us.
