PJ Library®

Welcome to PJ Library in Southern Maine!

PJ Library® is a national program that sends free, age-appropriate, Jewish-themed books and music each month to children 6 months through 8 years old. Southern Maine is part of more than 180 participating communities across the United States and Canada.

Created and supported by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is funded nationally in partnership with local philanthropists and organizations.  The Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine (JCA) launched PJ Library in 2013.

PJ Library engages families with young children to foster children’s curiosity about Jewish culture. Participating families receive a high-quality Jewish children’s book or CD sent to their home every month accompanied by a reading guide. Regardless of your level of observance or affiliation, the stories and songs are sure to enrich your entire family’s Jewish journey.
